Thank you for visiting Baby Root Designs!

 

My journey began about 9 years ago after I had my first baby, Josephine. I received some handmade gifts that I loved and wanted more so started sewing my own. I had learned some of the basics about sewing in grade 8 and my Mom used to sew regularly when I was younger, so had a general idea of where to start. I made Josephine blankets, quilts, curtains, wash cloths and so much more. Some friends started to comment that I should sell some of my wares! This came as a bit of a surprise, but thought let’s try a market or two and see what happens. It went well! My inventory grew. I received an invitation to join an artists co-op named Village Arts located in Invermere, BC. Little did I realize that this was just the start of a complete career change.

 

When I was pregnant with my third baby, I was busy enough to leave my full time job from a 4.5 star prestigious job at Eagle Ranch Golf course. This was both exciting and terrifying as I had worked there nearly 10 years and I was really committing to Baby Root with this decision. I haven’t looked back!

 

I personally make every item offered on my website. This poses as a challenge at times with my four kids, but I am grateful that I am able to work from home with these little gems.  A few of them aren't looking so little anymore!
